Choreographic Turn #10: Eco-choreography
Second segment
Sep 2nd - 6th, 2025
Program | Introduction | Collective Practice | Credits
Collective Practice: a practice that Mathilde and Martina would like to share and explore with everyone who is interested (regardless of age, previous experience, fitness etc.).
The only requirement is the ability to walk outside (for a longer time) and the willingness to talk to each other in English.
Each practice will be introduced in English language before Mathilde and Martina will invite the attending persons to join the experimental practice that aims to explore and test connections in and beyond the inter-subjective realm and to transgress the anthropocentric horizon of our thinking.
Each practice is a proposition to immerse yourself in temporalities other than those that characterize our everyday life and to experience and reconfigure situated choreographies and intertwined ecosystems.
It aims at connecting with the place (Krater) and all its (temporary) inhabitants.
By pursuing a specific practice together, a peculiar choreography will unfold that does not have one choreographer. As we practice together, we rehearse a non-consumerist attitude and letting go of our fixation on products in order to concentrate on the sympoietic process in this moment.
For Donna Haraway, a sympoietic practice or process is based on interwoven ecologies, in which human actors are not autonomous, but are constantly produced by their entanglement with other human and nonhuman entities in motion.
Please wear long sleeves, long pants, socks, and shoes, and maybe something covering your head, so that we can move safely in the grass and under the trees despite possible ticks.
