Introduction to the whole Choreographic Turn #10
Choreographic Turn is a curated series of events that sheds light on a specific aspect (theme, issue) of dance work, incorporating process-oriented, educational, artistic, and discursive programs that reflect the full spectrum of contemporary dance production.
In CT10, we are examining an increasingly relevant aspect of dance practice: eco-choreography. This exploration is conducted by investigating the ecology not only of human relationships but also through choreographic tools.
CT10 investigates what eco-choreography already is, where it can already be perceived, and what its potentials are—how to read them, engage with them, and be with them in the context of the ongoing ecological breakdown.
CT10 consists of multiple segments, which differ on many levels.
Content, formats, durations, production processes, participating people and many other beings are in constant dialogue, and the curatorial team (Jana Jevtović, Bojana Robinson, Mojca Prešern Levstek, DISKOlektiv) aims to enable and nurture an environment where these dialogues can unfold.
In doing so, this environment is not meant to be replaced but rather shaped by principles such as: dialogue, tuning-in, tunning-out, an egalitarian approach to all participants (humans, non-humans, objects, concepts), and trust in artistic proposals.
