More thought on CT10, the first segment
The program of the first CT10 segment can be described in the language of the dominant model of dance production, as a showcase of works-in-progress. And indeed, they are. But in their own way. The fact that they are in a state of constant becoming they claim the very essence of their work, and they are always ready to be shared with the public just as they are in the moment.
They are in a continuous dialogue with material, production, economic, ecological, political, bodily, and private circumstances. They listen to non-human ways of engaging with these themes and apply them in a uniquely choreographic way within the human world or the dominant modes of artistic production.
This dialogue between the artwork and production conditions is rarely exposed, which makes it harder to read. Yet it strongly influences artistic work. In the first segment, we artistically open up this dialogue, which will be further articulated during a conversation on June 10th, but which has been ongoing and is already shaping the artistic work to come, as it is reflecting what already was.
This is why we also pay close attention to the language used at KO10, since the pieces, focused on constant becoming, also significantly influence the creation process itself. Including this very text.
